International Willkommen foreign languages competition
Dear colleagues,
You are sincerely invited to participate as associates and partners this year as well,
in the seventh international Willkommen foreign languages competition.
Who is eligible to participate?
Students eligible to participate are the following:
Primary school students who learn English language as the first foreign language in their schools
( the third, the fourth, the fifth, the sixth, the seventh and the eighth grade )
Primary school students who learn German language as the second foreign language in their schools
( the fifth, the sixth, the seventh and the eighth grade )
Primary school students who learn French language as the second foreign language in their schools
( the fifth, the sixth, the seventh and the eighth grade )
Secondary school students who learn English language as a foreign language in their schools
( the first, the second, the third and the fourth grade )
Secondary school students who learn German language as a foreign language in their schools
( the first, the second, the third and the fourth grade )
Secondary school students who learn French language as a foreign language in their schools
( the first, the second, the third and the fourth grade )
* In some countries, it is from the fourth to the ninth grade instead of from the third to the eighth grade
How can schools and individuals apply?
Schools which want to participate, shall fill in the school registration form and send it via e-mail to the coordinator responsible for particular country. The Willkommen Center coordinator shall send notice of entry of participation approval letter to the schools that applied. Upon receiving the notice, school are eligible to apply its students. The student for whom the participation fee is paid, shall be registered as applied.
Should a student wish to apply irrespective of his or her school, he or she needs to fill in the individual application form and, altogether with scanned proof of payment, send via e-mail to the leading coordinator responsible he or she is applying in. Upon applying, the student shall receive a notice of participation in the competition.
Upon the application date expiration, every participant shall receive more detailed information about the exam process.
Why should you participate?
The highest ranked students, who meet the competition’s requirements, shall be awarded with the following:
The first prize
- Prize trip. This year’s prize is five day trip to Vienna, two nights. The winners shall have an organized trip, hotel accommodation, an escort from The Willkommen Center ( the professors of German, English or French language ), health insurance, tour guide and a tourist sightseeing tour of the city of Vienna.
In order to meet the requirements for the trip, it is necessary for at least 80 students per grade at the entire country level to apply, but if more than 160 students apply at a grade level from the entire country, the trip shall be, as well, awarded to the professor who prepared the student for the competition who won the prize.

* All students shall be awarded with certificates for the participation in the international competition.
Professors
Every professor shall be awarded with the certificates for the participation in the international competition.
School
Partner schools shall be awarded with the appreciation letter for the participation in the international project.
Schools in which more than 100 students participate in the competition shall be awarded with a dictionary for the school library.
Participation fee
Participation fee is 6 Euro for each country.

What is the application deadline?
Application process lasts until the 10th of May and the competition shall take place on the 18th of May 2019 on the premises of primary and secondary schools which apply to participate in the project as partners.
It is recommended that partner schools apply before the aforementioned deadline.
In what manner and where to should the exam material be delivered?
The exam material and the instructions on how to realize the competition shall be delivered to every partner school simultaneously to their addresses. For detailed information about exam materials delivery, feel free to contact the coordinator.
Competition dates
Test shall be realized in every partner school on the 18th of May 2019, that is:
- English language starts at 9 o’clock in the morning
- German and French language starts at 12 o’clock in the middle of the day
Test
Tests are created for each grade. It is comprised of two parts, where the second part is an essay which analyzes the topic estimated by the teaching curriculum for the particular grade. In case that two students have the same amount of points during the evaluation, essay points shall be taken into consideration.
Test completion time is 60 minutes plus the essay completion time of 45 minutes for primary school students and 60 minutes for secondary school students.

The results will be published within 30 days and sent in writing to every school’s mail and published on the official Willkommen site www.willkommen.org.rs
